Installation Services (Optional)
Basic Installation (HKD1,200) includes:
- Drilling one hole in the table surface (diameter: 35mm).
- Installation of the pneumatic activation system (air switch).
- Connection of the food waste processor to the sink drain.
- Adjustment of the U-shaped gas pipe and connection to the existing drain.
- Post-installation testing of pipes and ensuring proper functioning of the food waste disposer before sign-off.
Important Notes for Installation:
- We are not responsible for any damage to the table surface caused during drilling.
- Customers must provide an independent 13A power supply.
- Basic installation includes one U-shaped gas pipe connection to the existing drain.
- Basic installation does not cover modifications to plumbing, plastering, or electrical wiring.
- Additional accessories will be quoted separately.
- Installation services are available in the Hong Kong area. For installations in remote locations (such as Discovery Bay, Cheung Chau, Lamma Island, Peng Chau, etc.), an additional fee of HKD350 will apply.
Additional Charges for Extra Work:
- Removal of existing PVC drain: HKD120 per unit.
- Installation of PVC drain: HKD80 per foot.
- Additional PVC drain accessories: HKD80 each.
- Installation of single-phase 20A circuit breaker or 13A/15A outlet with surface-mounted junction box: HKD200 each.
- Installation of surface-laid power cables (charged per foot, minimum 1 foot): HKD35 per foot.
- Installation of surface-laid power cables with additional conduit (charged per foot, minimum 1 foot): HKD40 per foot.
Installation Requirements:
To ensure a smooth installation process, please meet the following criteria for the food waste disposer:
- A dedicated 13A electrical socket should be placed underneath the kitchen cabinet, with a wire length of 600mm for the food waste disposer.
- Reserve approximately 50cm x 50cm space under the kitchen sink.
- The inner and outer diameter of the sink hole should be 90mm and 115mm respectively. It should be equipped with a U-trap.
- A 33mm hole should be drilled to install the air switch on the countertop.
Pre-Purchase Recommendations:
Before purchasing, customers are advised to provide the following information for assessment:
- Position of the kitchen countertop sink.
- Kitchen sink overflow details.
- The drain beneath the sink, interior space of the kitchen cabinet, and the power supply position under the kitchen sink.
Please note:
- An on-site measurement fee of HK$250 will be charged (payable in cash at the location).*
- If, after the technician’s on-site assessment, installation is deemed impossible, the customer will still be required to pay the HK$250 on-site measurement fee.
- *Additional charges apply for remote areas.
Usage Guidelines and Precautions:
To ensure optimal performance and longevity of your Insinkerator Model66 Food Waste Disposer, please observe the following:
- Grind Small Amounts of Hard Materials: Such as bones, fruit pits, and ice. Particles created during grinding can cause abrasion inside the grinding chamber.
- Grind Citrus Fruit Peels: This helps remove odors from the drain.
- Avoid Pouring Grease or Oil: Do not pour grease or oil into the food waste processor or sink drain to prevent clogs.
- Do Not Use Hot Water: Avoid operating the food waste processor with hot water.
- Keep Water Source and Processor On: Do not turn off the water source or the food waste processor until the grinding process is complete.
- Limitations: The M56 and M66 models cannot grind fibrous foods like corn husks or bamboo shoots, as fibers may get stuck in the grinding chamber and affect the processor’s operation.
- Avoid Grinding Certain Materials:
- Shells (e.g., oyster, clam, snail)
- Raw meat, bones, skin, or hair
- High-fiber foods (e.g., herbal residues, durian shells, sugarcane residue)
- Do Not Process Hard Materials: Avoid using the food waste processor for hard materials like glass, wood, or metal.
- Do Not Grind Non-Food Waste: Only use it for food-related kitchen waste.
- Avoid Overloading: Do not put excessive amounts of food waste into the processor simultaneously.
- Keep Hands Clear: Never insert hands or fingers into the food waste processor.
