Start by laying newspapers under the range hood to avoid getting dirt on other parts of the kitchen. Put on gloves and get ready to clean the non-removable parts of the range hood. Spray cleaning solution onto the fan blades and turn on the range hood, so that the dissolved grease will drip off as the fan blades spin. Wipe off the grease with a cleaning cloth.
Follow the instructions to remove the grease filter and baffle from the range hood. Pour the cleaning solution into a container and dilute it. Fully immerse the removed parts in the container for about 20 minutes, and the grease will dissolve naturally.
If the grease filter or baffle is still not clean, use a kitchen sponge or toothbrush to gently scrub away stubborn grease and dirt. Then, dry the cleaned parts.
Finally, wipe the range hood clean from top to bottom and reinstall the cleaned parts to complete the cleaning process.
Many range hood cleaning solutions on the market can quickly clean grease. However, the ingredients may not be natural and could damage your range hood's surface. Making a natural range hood cleaning solution at home is easy - you only need baking soda and hot water. Simply dilute one tablespoon of baking soda in a cup of hot water. For stubborn stains, adjust the baking soda to hot water ratio to 1:1 or 2:1.
After cooking, it is recommended to wipe off grease immediately to ensure the range hood operates normally.
When cleaning the range hood, follow the instructions for removing parts to avoid losing components that may affect its operation.
Don't wait a whole year to clean your range hood; otherwise, accumulated grease will make cleaning more difficult.
